Munich, Germany: Hour 8 of 24skate #14

Dear skaters and friends around the world,

this week was a hot one. However on Saturday, start day of 24skate #14 it cool down a bit. Very good conditions for a 24skate-out. My daughter and I took the metro to the north of the city, stored some alcohol-free calories in the "Aumeister" beer garden and started just in time for our hour through green parts of Munich, heading back home.

We withstood the temptation to have a rest at the next beer garden along our route, nicknamed "The 4.5 beer garden route" (mini beer gardens only count half ;-)

and continued our skate through Munich's "English Garden".

We reached the river Isar and passed the "Angel of Peace", commemorating the peace agreement between Germany and France in 1871.

The Bavarian Parliament glowed in the sunset light.

Here is a more modern monument. I call it a "bicyclist-o-meter". It counts how many bicycles used this bike path along the river Isar, close to the "Deutsches Museum". The count of the day at 20:52 was well above 5.000. The count of the year - with almost a half of the year passed - is slightly below 600.000

With all the photos we took, it took us a bit more than one hour to skate home, so we added a handful of kilometers to the next hour.

Best regards
Clemens
