Vienna, Austria: 24skate #19
Back on skates after ten years - and no fall on the buttocks! We proudly made 9 kilometers skating direction Auhof (western end of Vienna) and then a detour along the river Wien. Felt once again completely forgotten muscles. But it was very nice. "Leiwand!" as a Viennese would call it.
Best regards to all 24skaters!

PS by Clemens:
Most people would think that Vienna lies at river Danube. True, but the city received its Austrian name Wien by the small river that ends in the Danube in Vienna. One subway line runs a few kilometers along the Wien river and on its other side a paved path for recreational activities was built some years ago. On normal days the Wien is more a creek than a river, but in case of heavy rain it can be really powerful. Therefore a huge reservoir was build at the Western border of Vienna to avoid floods. BTW: One day earlier the river bed was so full of water that skating on the bike path along the river would have only been possible with divers' skates...
